สถาบันอนุรักษ์มวยไทยแห่งชาติ
สถาบันอนุรักษ์มวยไทยแห่งชาติ จัดตั้งขึ้นตามโครงสร้างใหม่ที่ท่านสมบัติ คุรุพันธ์ ได้นำแนวทางปรับเปลี่ยนองค์กร
เพื่อพัฒนาศักยภาพการกีฬาของชาติ ให้ทัดเทียมนานาประเทศและเพื่อรองรับฐานะใหม่ของสำนักงานพัฒนาการกีฬาและนันทนาการ
ที่จะปรับเปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น กรมพลศึกษา ตามชื่อเดิม ซึ่งจะมีหน่วยงานภายใน ที่ประกาศจัดตั้งขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 23 ธันวาคม 2552
เพิ่มขึ้นอีก 5 หน่วยงานคือ สำนักงานกีฬาและนันทนาการภูมิภาค ศูนย์เทคโนโลยี่สารสนเทศและการประชาสัมพันธ์ สถาบันพัฒนาบุคลากรการกีฬาแห่งชาติ สถาบันอนุรักษ์มวยไทยแห่งชาติ และกลุ่มงานคุ้มครองจริยธรรม เมื่อรวมกับหน่วยงานเดิมที่มีอยู่ 5 หน่วยงานแล้ว นับว่า กรมพลศึกษาจะมีหน่วยงานภายในเพิ่มขึ้นเป็น 10 หน่วยงานฯทีเดียว โดยสถาบันอนุรักษ์มวยไทยแห่งชาติได้ขยายขอบเขตงานที่เกี่ยวข้องกับมวยไทย จากเดิมที่เป็นศูนย์อนุรักษ์ศิลปะมวยไทยแห่งชาติ ออกไปให้ครอบคลุมทั่วถึงทุกกิจกรรมที่เกี่ยวกับการอนุรักษ์มวยไทย สถาบันอนุรักษ์มวยไทยแห่งชาติ มีสำนักงานที่ประตู 16 – 17 สนามกีฬาศุภชลาศัย ในสนามกีฬาแห่งชาติ เขตปทุมวัน กรุงเทพมหานคร และกำลังขยายหน่วยงานไปสู่ภูมิภาค โดยได้ดำเนินการก่อสร้างอาคารสำนักงานของสถาบันอนุรักษ์มวยไทยแห่งชาติ อีกแห่งหนึ่งในบริเวณ สนามกีฬาเฉลิมพระเกียรติสมเด็จพระบรมราชินีนารถ คลอง 6 จังหวัดปทุมธานี สถาบันอนุรักษ์มวยไทยแห่งชาติ มีกลุ่มงานเพื่อดำเนินงาน เ 5 กลุ่มงาน ได้แก่ กลุ่มบริหารงานทั่วไป กลุ่มพัฒนาหลักสูตรและงานวิจัย กลุ่มพัฒนาบุคลากรมวยไทย กลุ่มศูนย์อนุรักษ์มวยไทยภูมิภาคและกลุ่มพิพิธภัณฑ์มวยไทยแห่งชาติ ซึ่งทั้ง 5 กลุ่มงานนี้จะดำเนินงาน ตามพันธกิจ ปฏิบัติหน้าที่ให้สอดคล้องกับนโยบายและประสานงานต่อเนื่องตลอดปี ซึ่งที่ฝ่านมานั้นมีขอบเขตจำกัด และงบประมาณไม่เพียงพอ เนื่องจากเป็นเพียงศูนย์อนุรักษ์ศิลปะมวยไทยแห่งชาติ การบริหารจัดการไม่กว้างไกลและไม่ได้ครอบคลุมถึงงานด้านการวิจัย การรวบรวมข้อมูลและงานพิพิธภัณฑ์จึงทำให้ขาด องค์ความรู้ในหลายๆด้าน ทำให้การบริหารจัดการองค์กรและการให้การบริการแก่ประชาชนยังไม่สมบูรณ์เต็มรูปแบบ
จากโครงสร้างใหม่ของ สถาบันอนุรักษ์มวยไทยแห่งชาติ จะทำให้การดำเนินงาน เป็นไปด้วยความราบรื่น คล่องตัวขึ้น เพราะเป็น
หน่วยงานหนึ่งที่ขึ้นตรงต่อสำนักงานพัฒนาการกีฬาและนันทนาการ ซึ่งให้อำนาจในการบริหารจัดการสถาบันฯอย่างเต็มที่เต็มศักยภาพ ทำให้ มีแนวโน้มว่าการอนุรักษ์มวยไทยในปัจจุบันและในอนาคต จะเป็นไปอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ เกิดประสิทธิผลอย่างเต็มที่ โดยผู้บริหารคนแรก ของสถาบันอนุรักษ์มวยไทยแห่งชาติ คือท่านผู้อำนวยการ วีระ กัจฉปคีรินทร์ ปฏิบัติงานตามคำสั่งสำนักงานพัฒนาการกีฬาและนันทนาการ เมื่อวันที่ 29 ธันวาคม พ.ศ. 2552 นับได้ว่าท่านผู้อำนวยการวีระ กัจฉปคีรินทร์ เป็นผู้บริหารองค์กรที่มีความรู้ความสามารถที่ตรงกับสายงานเป็นอย่างยิ่ง เพราะขณะนี้ ท่านได้ศึกษาขั้นปริญญาเอกในสาขาวิชามวยไทยศึกษา ปริญญาศิลปศาสตรดุษฎีบัณฑิตรุ่นแรกของโลก จากมหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏหมู่บ้านจอมบึง ซึ่งท่านจะสำเร็จการศึกษาในเร็วๆนี้ โดยมีเจ้าหน้าที่ปฏิบัติงานในสำนักงาน 5 คนตรงสายงาน 2 คน โดย สำเร็จการศึกษาขั้น ศิลปศาสตรมหาบัณฑิต สาขาวิชามวยไทยศึกษา ปริญญาโทมวยไทยรุ่นแรกของโลก 1 คน และสำเร็จการศึกษาขั้น ประกาศนียบัตรบัณฑิต สาขาวิชามวยไทยศึกษารุ่นแรกของโลก อีก 1 คน
About The Institute of MuayThai Conservation, Thailand
The Institute of Muay Thai Conservation, Thailand was inaugurated in September 2010 as part of a Royal Thai Government re-organization of its Physical Education Department. The Government has charged its Physical Education Department with the responsibility to manage the Institute confirming its aims as follows;
-To conserve the ancient cultures and traditions of all forms of Muay Thai.
-To ensure the correct development and promotion of Muay Thai both within Thailand and internationally.
The Royal Thai Government sees Muay Thai as an important cornerstone of Thai history, tradition and culture. It recognizes that learning and training in Muay Thai has both physical and mental benefits for all people. Following on from this recognition, the Institute of Muay Thai Conservation will continue to develop curriculums some of which have already been introduced to Thai schools. Children from the age of 5 are thrilled to learn exciting new skills and at the same time learn purpose, discipline and respect for others as well as developing excellent physical condition; the hope is that these good habits, once learned will stay with children for life. Teaching to children also ensures the sport and art’s survival as another generation understands just how special it is.
The Department of Physical Education has invited Chinawut Sirisompan (Master Woody) to give advice and assistant to the Institute of Muay Thai Conservation, Thailand given his extensive experience in promoting Muay Thai. Master Woody was the first Thai to teach Muay Thai in England, in 1975, it was he who took the idea of amateur Muay Thai to the world, organizing Championships which most recently (2010) attracted 600 participants from 46 countries. Recently as Chairman of the Kru Muay Thai Association, he has worked to ensure the highest standards of Muay Thai teaching are adopted. As a Government body Master Woody will continually liaise with the Department of Physical Education toward achieving their aim.
Master Woody confirms the Institute of Muay Thai Conservation, Thailand will be based in Bangkok’s National Stadium complex in the centre of the city. There it will be able to connect with the vast archive of information on Muay Thai that has been gathered at the Stadium’s Muay Thai Conservation Centre. Anyone who wishes to know anything about Muay Thai, past and present can use the centre as a reference point. It will train people in all forms of Muay Thai (i.e. including Muay Boran) and more importantly will train people in how to deliver the aforementioned Muay Thai curriculum. Master Woody would like to see similar centre open in every country where Muay Thai is practiced so that similarly people can have a point of reference where they can find out about Muay Thai, where they can learn safely and effectively and where hopefully they will take steps to eventually becoming teachers themselves, following the curriculum laid down by the Royal Thai Government.
The Institute of Muay Thai Conservation, Thailand and the initiative to make it international thus represents an exciting move to continually spread the word on Muay Thai, to ensure it survives as new generations learn these magical skills and traditions.
